GTA 6 Drift Servers

Drift is a small but fiercely loyal community inside the GTA universe. A good drift server is partly a racing server, partly a tuning garage, and partly a tandem club. Here is how to build one for GTA 6.

What makes a drift server

• Custom handling configs across every car so vehicles actually drift.
• Angle and speed scoring scripts that measure drift quality.
• Tandem matchmaking and judging tools.
• Tuning systems so players customise their cars before events.
• A small, active community (usually 16 to 48 regulars).

Hardware profile

Drift is similar to racing but usually smaller. A 32-slot drift server needs:

• 4 to 6 vCPU.
• 8 to 16 GB RAM.
• NVMe storage.
• Good regional peering.

Handling configs

Drift lives or dies on handling. Out-of-the-box vehicles do not drift well. Custom handling.meta (or GTA 6 equivalent) is essential, and it takes weeks of tuning to get the feel right across a full car roster. Plan to commission or write drift handling configs for your popular cars.

Scoring systems

Two main approaches:

• Automated angle scoring. Scripts measure car angle, speed, line, proximity to clipping points. Objective but sometimes misses the feel of a good run.
• Manual judging. Human judges score runs. More accurate to drift culture but harder to scale.

Good drift servers usually combine both: automated for practice, manual for tandem battles.

Tandem and events

• Tandem battles are the high point of any drift server.
• Friday night tandem sessions keep the community engaged.
• Monthly championships give the regulars something to train for.
• Spectator-friendly broadcasts attract new players.
