GTA 6 Server Whitelisting

The whitelist is where your server's culture gets set before anyone joins. A good whitelist filters for the players you actually want. A bad one either lets in troublemakers or scares off decent players with an intimidating process. Here is how to find the middle.

What the whitelist actually does

• Filters out rule-breakers and trolls.
• Surfaces players who understand roleplay (or whatever your server's focus is).
• Sets expectations by design: a thoughtful application implies a thoughtful server.
• Gives your staff a record to reference if problems emerge later.

A good application structure

1. Discord identity. Link their Discord account. Required.
2. Rule acknowledgement. 2 to 4 basic rule questions. If they cannot answer, they did not read the rules.
3. Character concept. Short backstory, 2 to 4 paragraphs. You learn more from this than anything else.
4. Scenario response. 2 short in-character scenarios. Tests if they can roleplay at all.
5. Experience. Previous servers, previous bans. Be honest about wanting the answer.

What to avoid

• 30-question applications. Nobody will finish them.
• Video interview requirements for basic whitelist. Reserve those for senior roles.
• Long response delays. 7 days to review kills enthusiasm. 48 hours is better.
• Automated accept-without-review. The whole point is the filter.

Review workflow

• Two-reviewer minimum for each application.
• Standardised rubric so reviewers grade consistently.
• Veto option for any reviewer on clear red flags.
• Feedback on rejection. "Please revise your character concept with more specific backstory" beats a flat no.
• Automatic Discord role change on acceptance, flagged to the applicant and to staff.

Red flags to watch for

• One-paragraph character backstory that reads like a template.
• Previous bans they do not disclose.
• "I want to RP as a cop/mayor/crime boss on day one". Good roleplayers start small.
• Discord account less than 30 days old with no prior activity.
• Copy-paste answers. You see the same phrases across applications.
